Dream Job

COMICS

Dream Job

Four panels. Panel 1: Man and woman sitting together at coffeeshop. Man is on a laptop, screen towards us. Man: “I got my dream job!” Woman: “That’s great! When do you leave your current job?” Panel 2: Man lying in bed with contraption on and wires attached to him. Overlay: “No I’m not leaving my job - I got a new one. I get paid to listen to ads while I sleep!”. You can see his dream, he’s flying over a cityscape with buildings in the shape of RR. Text reads “Hey you with your head in the clouds! Rectangleroom can make all your dreams come true!” Panel 3: Woman has her arms crossed, looking disgusted. “That is horrifying.” Panel 4: Man says “It’s easy money! Besides, advertising doesn’t affect me. Hey, if you want help starting your side hustle, Rectangleroom makes it really easy!”. On the laptop, you can see a bunch of stickers. One reads “RR Rectangleroom” in the same style as in the dream. Another sticker says “perceptible” in the style of Audible. Another says “Goodbye STALE” in the style of Hello Fresh

Color palette adapted from Chad Ashley’s palettes on Twitter, which in turn are adapted from Dieter Rams.

In case it’s not clear, this is making fun of side hustles + Squarespace, and in particular the “5 to 9” debacle.
